Ropewalk Cottage enjoys a fantastic location on Lake Street, just a short stroll from the heart of Dartmouth. The picturesque waterfront, independent shops, cafés, pubs and excellent restaurants are all within easy walking distance, meaning there is little need to use the car during your stay.

The passenger ferry provides regular crossings to Kingswear, where you can board the famous Dartmouth Steam Railway for a scenic journey to Paignton. River cruises and boat trips depart throughout the day, offering a wonderful way to explore the stunning River Dart, whilst the South West Coast Path is easily accessible for spectacular coastal walks towards Dartmouth Castle, Compass Cove and beyond.

Regular bus services connect Dartmouth with the nearby towns of Totnes, Kingsbridge, Salcombe and the surrounding South Hams, making it easy to explore the area without the need to drive. Beautiful beaches including Blackpool Sands, Slapton Sands and Sugary Cove are all within a short drive, while the rolling landscapes of Dartmoor National Park can be reached in under an hour, making Dart Lookout the perfect base for discovering everything South Devon has to offer
