Dartmouth is perfectly positioned for exploring the very best of South Devon, whether by car, foot, ferry or public transport. A visit to the Dartmouth Steam Railway is a must, where you can take the passenger ferry across the River Dart to Kingswear before boarding the heritage steam train to Paignton, enjoying spectacular coastal and countryside views along the way.

Regular bus services operate from Dartmouth to Totnes, Paignton, Brixham and Torquay, making it easy to explore the surrounding towns without the need to drive. Dartmouth also offers seasonal passenger ferries across the River Dart to Kingswear, along with scenic river cruises to the picturesque village of Dittisham.
